About SymbolKeys
SymbolKeys is a free, fast, and comprehensive symbol and special character reference built for writers, developers, designers, students, and anyone who regularly needs characters that aren't on their keyboard. Find any Unicode symbol by category, copy it with one click, and paste it anywhere — documents, code, social media, chat apps, and websites.
Our Mission
Accessing special characters on a standard keyboard is surprisingly difficult. Most operating systems bury character maps in obscure menus, and searching for symbols online often means navigating cluttered sites that are slow to load and hard to browse. SymbolKeys solves this by putting thousands of Unicode symbols in one clean, fast, categorized interface where finding what you need takes seconds, not minutes.
We believe that accessing the full breadth of Unicode — mathematical operators, arrows, currency signs, phonetic characters, decorative symbols, and more — should be simple and immediate for everyone, not just those who memorize keyboard shortcuts or know Unicode code points by heart.
What SymbolKeys Offers
- Arrows: Every direction, weight, and style — single, double, dashed, curved, and decorative arrows for documents and design
- Math Operators: Summation, integral, inequality signs, set notation, Greek letters, and common mathematical symbols
- Currency Signs: Dollar, euro, pound, yen, rupee, won, bitcoin, and dozens of other currency symbols from around the world
- Punctuation & Typography: Em dashes, en dashes, ellipses, guillemets, typographic quotes, diacritical marks, and spacing characters
- Geometric Shapes: Squares, circles, triangles, stars, diamonds, and other geometric symbols in filled and outline variants
- Emoji & Pictographs: Common emoji and Unicode pictographic symbols with their code points
- Technical Symbols: Computer, keyboard, and interface symbols — command key, option, shift, return, and others used in documentation
- Language & Phonetics: IPA phonetic characters, accented letters, and characters from Latin-extended scripts
How SymbolKeys Works
Every symbol displayed on SymbolKeys is a standard Unicode character. When you click the copy button, the character's UTF-8 representation is placed in your clipboard using the browser's Clipboard API. You can then paste it into any application that supports Unicode text — which includes virtually every modern application on every platform.
No plugins, extensions, or downloads are required. SymbolKeys works in any modern browser on desktop and mobile devices. Unicode characters copied from SymbolKeys display correctly on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux as long as the target application uses a font that includes those code points.
Who Uses SymbolKeys?
