How to Use Alt Codes
On Windows, hold the Alt key and type the number on the numeric keypad (make sure Num Lock is on). Release Alt to insert the character. For codes starting with 0 (like Alt+0169 for ©), you must include the leading zero.
Tips
- You must use the numeric keypad, not the number row
- Num Lock must be enabled
- On laptops without a numeric keypad, use the Fn key or on-screen keyboard
